Senior Data Engineer SQL Snowflake – Finance

Overview

In this Senior Data Engineer role you will design and optimize data pipelines and integrations using Python, SQL, Dagster, Snowflake, DBT and C#, while helping build a Snowflake-based data platform for a global asset manager. You will collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into robust solutions, modernise legacy systems, and mentor junior engineers. The role offers hands-on delivery with a focus on data quality, reliability, and scalable architecture. You’ll contribute to improved client outcomes and investment performance in a tech-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and optimise data pipelines and integrations
• Shape and migrate to a Snowflake-based data platform
• Collaborate with stakeholders and data owners to translate requirements
• Troubleshoot complex data challenges and ensure data quality
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices
• Modernise legacy systems and influence architecture and technology choices
• Support cross-functional teams to deliver robust data solutions

Key requirements

• Strong data engineering experience with a software development background
• Expertise with SQL and Snowflake (including query optimisation)
• Experience with data modelling, ELT pipelines, and data integration
• Proficiency in Python and/or C#
• Finance environment experience
• Familiarity with Dagster and DBT
• Collaborative, pragmatic, stakeholder-facing mindset
• Experience enabling others through technical leadership (mentoring, coaching, training)
