Mechanical Engineer (Building Services)

Overview

In this role, you will contribute to UK/European-wide Building Services projects from Bristol, working with a close-knit MEP team on challenging, multidisciplinary endeavours. You’ll interpret project needs, perform detailed designs, and help plan resources to meet delivery goals. You will collaborate with discipline leads and clients to ensure compliant, technically sound solutions. Responsibilities

• Deliver detailed designs and performance specifications for the discipline with multidisciplinary input
• Interpret project needs and contribute to the overall design/programme
• Allocate and direct work using 3D design tools and traditional drafting, ensuring resource availability
• Apply regulatory knowledge to project execution and compliance
• Provide technical advice and support to project teams and clients

Key requirements

• Understanding of UK and European regulations applicable to the discipline
• UK Security Check (SC) clearance or ability to obtain
• Proficiency with mechanical design software and 3D design tools (Revit MEP, AutoCAD)
• Knowledge of Part L regulations and related calculations
• Experience with TAS or IES for thermal modelling/energy analysis
• Mechanical design skills: Hevacomp, U-value, heat loss/gain, pipe/pump/duct sizing, psychrometrics, BMS systems
• Engineering degree with chartership potential (IEng/CEng) or equivalent experience
• Revit MEP training or equivalent 3D design capability
