Technical Program Manager, Google Play Developer

Overview

In this Technical Program Manager role, you will lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary initiatives across offices and time zones, aligning teams to deliver high-priority programs. You’ll partner with engineering and product leads to accelerate execution and shape roadmaps and OKR planning. You’ll advocate AI-driven approaches to automate workflows and reduce manual toil, while establishing scalable processes and governance to streamline global communication. This role offers impact through shaping product execution at scale and collaborating with cross-functional partners to meet executive goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-office, cross-time zone projects and ensure progress visibility
• Partner with engineering and product leads to accelerate execution on high-priority initiatives
• Oversee portfolio planning, prioritization, and Roadmap/OKR planning with Product, UX, and Engineering
• Manage milestones and software schedules in collaboration with Product, UX, and Engineering
• Promote AI best practices and tools to automate workflows and improve program efficiency
• Architect scalable processes and governance to reduce complexity and improve global communication

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 5 years of experience in program management
• Experience in predictive risk management, resource estimation, and global stakeholder steering
• Experience navigating engineering organizations with dependencies and cross-site partners
• Experience managing dependencies across a global stack and assessing feasibility across engineering scope

• Strong negotiation skills for cross-boundary consensus
• Exceptional leadership and communication abilities
• Ability to translate complex technical trade-offs for executives
• Cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder alignment
• AI tools and frameworks to automate workflows and accelerate program execution
