Responsibilities
- Contribute to concept development, system-level design and release
- Translate requirements into robust design solutions with cross-disciplinary teams
- Create and review engineering drawings and product data in line with controls
- Support prototype development, testing, materials selection and verification activities
- Manage smaller projects and collaborate with other disciplines to deliver
- Review technical documentation, drawings and standards for quality and compliance
- Use data and modelling to guide design decisions
- Mentor engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing
- Contribute ideas for new technology and product improvements
Key requirements
- Strong background in mechanical design for multi-component systems in a precision environment
- Track record in concept development, system-level design, prototyping and delivery
- Degree-qualified/equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Experience guiding less senior engineers on technically challenging projects
- Strong understanding of CAD tooling, engineering drawings, materials selection, tolerance control and DfX
- Confidence in verification testing, root cause analysis, and structured problem solving
- Exposure to regulated, high-specification environments is advantageous
