Site Engineer

Overview

As Site Engineer you will support protecting assets and mitigate works while installing instrumentation and monitoring along the route. You will work with asset protection and I&M teams to ensure safe, compliant delivery near sensitive assets. You’ll plan methods, supervise on-site activities, and ensure RAMS, ITPs, permits, and monitoring requirements are in place. This role offers exposure to complex infrastructure projects and direct stakeholder engagement, contributing to safe, efficient delivery.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate methodologies, statements, and inputs for mobilization near third-party assets
• Develop Asset Protection plans and monitoring briefs; coordinate with Foreman/Works Manager
• Supervise mitigation works and I&M installations along the route
• Ensure RAMS, ITPs, permits, asset protection plans, and monitoring requirements are produced and implemented
• Support subcontractors in meeting asset protection conditions and safe delivery near sensitive zones
• Plan site activities to protect adjacent assets and prevent disruption or damage
• Apply Permit to Dig, Temporary Works controls, exclusion zones, and monitoring actions correctly
• Carry out quality inspections aligned with ITPs and Asset Protection requirements
• Manage non-conformances from identification to close-out with Asset Protection Engineers and stakeholders

Key requirements

• Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline
• Experience in Civil Engineering or Infrastructure projects; asset protection or stakeholder-facing works desirable
• Understanding of reinforced concrete, utilities interfaces, and temporary works
• Relevant CSCS card
• Ability to liaise with asset owners and third parties
