Clinical Lead Wheelchair Therapist
to join our team.
The role
As
Clinical Lead Wheelchair Therapist , you will deliver wheelchair services to the highest clinical and ethical standards. You will provide training and supervision to students, less experienced colleagues and service users.
Key duties.
Identifying and prescribing appropriate equipment from an agreed matrix based on growing clinical knowledge and experience to meet the Service User’s clinical needs and their agreed aims & objectivesLeading the wheelchair team in agreed area of specialityWorking as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) at all levels to ensure the most appropriate and effective treatment for service usersEnsuring service Delivery using agreed processes to meet Key Performance IndicatorsDeveloping and maintaining protocols, standards, systems and administrative functions to ensure the seamless delivery of services to service usersWorking within the company framework to ensure cost effective product provision.Leading the team in all aspects of clinical governance with the support of the Area ManagerParticipating in clinical audit and clinical research, liaising with both clinical and technical employees.Providing training to MDT/referrers/other healthcare professionals/Blatchford team in the field of wheelchairsAssisting Service Manager in budget control.What are we looking for?

BSc Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy or equivalentHCPC RegisteredExperience in a wide range of wheelchair provision including paediatricsExperience in cost effective service provisionExperience of provision of special seatingAble to prioritise and manage your own workloadExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsCompetent Microsoft Office application skillsAbility to manage difficult and challenging situations in sensitive situationsGood judgment and decision-making skillsAbility to work effectively under pressure to the demands of the serviceWhat can we offer you?
