Principal Mechanical Engineer

Overview

In this role you lead and deliver engineering design and analysis for AFRY’s Thermal and Renewable Energy projects. You’ll support multiple project stages from feasibility to operations, collaborating with a cross-functional team to ensure high-quality outputs. You will mentor junior engineers and help develop business opportunities while representing the company professionally. The position ties into AFRY’s mission to advance sustainable solutions across energy and industry, offering meaningful impact and growth in a multidisciplinary, international setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across design, analysis and problem-solving for engineering projects
• Deliver and review high-quality design outputs, reports and documentation
• Support construction through site inspections, testing and risk mitigation
• Contribute to business development and represent the company professionally
• Mentor junior engineers and continuously develop technical expertise

Key requirements

• 2:1 degree in mechanical or chemical engineering
• Chartered Engineer status
• Relevant industry experience
