Production Supervisor (Shifts)

Overview

In this hands-on Production Leader role, you will drive safe, high-quality extrusion operations in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. You’ll lead and develop shop-floor teams, optimize throughput, and partner with Engineering and Maintenance to keep equipment and processes performing. You’ll embed a safety-first culture and continuous improvement mindset to deliver reliable outcomes. Responsibilities

• Lead daily extrusion production operations to meet safety, quality, and delivery targets
• Plan schedules, line utilization, changeovers, and material flow to maximize throughput and minimize downtime
• Coordinate with Engineering and Maintenance on preventative maintenance and breakdown response
• Drive safety culture and ensure EHS compliance; lead incident investigations and corrective actions
• Ensure products meet specifications and quality standards
• Implement and maintain SOPs, SPC, first-off checks, and corrective actions
• Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, team leaders, and operators
• Support capability development in setup, troubleshooting, quality, and continuous improvement
• Drive Lean initiatives including 5S, SMED, Kaizen, and OEE improvement

Key requirements

• Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Plastics Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or equivalent experience
• Proven production leadership experience in manufacturing
• Strong experience in plastics extrusion or continuous polymer processing
• Practical knowledge of extrusion equipment, dies, haul-offs, cutters, and downstream systems
• Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing, OEE, SPC, and continuous improvement
• Excellent leadership and team development skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven mindset
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Basic understanding of PLC/HMI systems desirable
