Project Engineering Manager

Overview

As Project Engineering Manager at Urenco, you will lead engineering and design across major, complex projects to ensure safe, compliant and technically robust solutions. You’ll develop delivery strategies, guide multidisciplinary teams, and manage engineering scope from concept to delivery. The role requires strong technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, and integration of Urenco technologies to meet safety, quality, cost and schedule goals. Responsibilities

• Lead engineering delivery by developing and implementing design strategies for successful project outcomes
• Head multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, fit-for-purpose design solutions
• Ensure all engineering activities comply with standards, legislation, customer requirements, and Urenco procedures
• Promote proactive safety culture across the project lifecycle
• Deliver engineering scope aligned with safety, cost, schedule, quality and business benefits
• Support project planning, estimating, resource management, and execution activities
• Manage technical scope, engineering risks, and change control throughout the project lifecycle
• Provide technical guidance for supplier selection, procurement, and contract delivery
• Ensure effective integration of Urenco core technology and project systems
• Build and maintain relationships with project teams, contractors, suppliers, regulators, and stakeholders
• Oversee engineering interfaces and assist in managing technical risk registers
• Act as a trusted engineering leader and advisor throughout delivery
• Protect Urenco’s commercial interests through governance, contracting strategies, and supplier management
• Drive continuous improvement, knowledge sharing and lessons learned across projects
• Support development and implementation of engineering best practice across the organisation

Key requirements

• Degree in engineering with professional accreditation (PE, CEng, EUR ING, or equivalent)
• Experience delivering complex multi-million-pound projects across full lifecycle
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams >20 people
• Proven track record in engineering management, stakeholder engagement, and project delivery
• Understanding of delivery models, commercial strategies, and procurement activities
• Knowledge of information management, document control, digital/design integration, and supply chain management
• Strong understanding of engineering delivery, design management and project execution
• Experience managing complex supplier and contractual relationships
• Knowledge of nuclear safety, regulatory compliance and engineering governance
