Senior Program Manager – (Medical Device System)

Overview

In this Senior Program Manager role within Medtronic’s Digital Technologies R&D, you drive the delivery of next-generation surgical technology, coordinating hardware, embedded software, and electro-mechanical systems across global teams. You will monitor risks, manage cross-functional programs, and align product development with regulatory and quality expectations. Responsibilities

• Lead global cross-functional development teams to design, implement, and commercialize digital, electro-mechanical, and robotic medical devices
• Plan, monitor and manage risks within development and cross-portfolio contexts to meet business objectives
• Oversee project lifecycle for new product development and ongoing lifecycle management of products, processes, and therapies
• Coordinate operational aspects of ongoing projects and act as liaison between functional and business management
• Manage development and implementation processes involving cross-functional teams focused on delivering new or existing products
• Track project progress from initiation to delivery and intervene as needed
• Identify and assess risks and issues; develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals
• Support requirements planning and elicitation to meet stakeholder demands
• Report status, progress, and risk mitigation strategies to executive leaders

Key requirements

• 10+ years of end-to-end project management experience in hardware and embedded software development
• Proficiency with sequential/waterfall, Scrum, and Agile project methodologies
• Experience leading diverse, cross-functional programs across multiple units
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Experience with highly regulated and/or safety-critical systems; medical device experience preferred
• Degree in Engineering or related technical field
• Recognized project management qualification/certification (PMP, Prince2, SaFe)
