Senior Project Controller/Planner

Overview

As a Project Controller in Arup’s Planning and Controls team, you will support complex infrastructure and engineering projects with expert scheduling and controls. You’ll develop and maintain programmes, review contractor submissions, and drive timely decisions through detailed reporting and risk insights. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to apply best-practice project controls in delivery-focused settings. Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project programmes and schedules to support delivery across complex projects
• Prepare technical and progress reports highlighting issues, impacts, opportunities and mitigations
• Review contractor and consultant programmes (including NEC submissions) and advise on acceptance and change
• Support compensation event assessment, change control, and schedule updates with commercial implications
• Apply project controls techniques across schedule, cost, risk, change and reporting (incl. earned value management)
• Collaborate with project teams in large EPC programmes to provide clear analysis and practical recommendations
• Utilise Primavera P6, Power BI and other digital tools for planning, analysis and reporting

Key requirements

• Experience in planning or scheduling within complex delivery environments
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Ability to engage with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams
• Understanding of project controls, schedule review, reporting and change control
• Familiarity with NEC4 or similar contractual schedule submissions (advantage)
