Head of Commercial Property Management

Overview

As Chartered Commercial Property Manager, you will lead the management of a diverse retail-focused portfolio, ensuring strong asset performance and occupancy. You’ll work with a client-focused, autonomous team to maximise value, guide lease and service-contract decisions, and mentor junior staff. This role combines strategic advisory with hands-on budget and relationship management within a reputable, collaborative firm.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse commercial portfolio (primarily retail; some office/industrial)
• Develop and implement strategies to maximise asset value, rental income and occupancy
• Prepare, oversee and control service charge budgets
• Handle lease renewals, rent reviews and service contract negotiations
• Build strong relationships with landlords, tenants, contractors and managing agents
• Provide strategic advice to clients on market conditions, asset performance and investment opportunities
• Lead and support junior members of the property management team

Key requirements

• MRICS qualification
• Minimum 5 years’ commercial property management experience
• Strong knowledge of commercial property law, leases and valuation principles
• Solid financial and budget management experience
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder skills
• Leadership or line management experience desirable
