Specialist Clinical Pharmacist ADHD and Mental Health

Overview

As a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist & Independent Prescriber, you will lead medicines optimisation for adults with ADHD and support mental health services. You will manage a specialist caseload, provide independent prescribing and expert medicines advice, and work in multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, cost-effective care. You will lead pharmacist-led clinics and contribute to service development, education, research and governance. This role offers a clear opportunity to shape ADHD and mental health service delivery within the Trust.

Responsibilities

• Manage a specialist ADHD adult caseload with independent prescribing and medicines optimisation
• Lead pharmacist-led clinics and contribute to prescribing pathways and shared care
• Provide expert advice on ADHD and psychotropic medicines
• Monitor physical health and high-risk medicines safety
• Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes
• Support service development, quality improvement, education, research and medicines governance
• Contribute to cost-effective, evidence-based prescribing across community and inpatient settings
• Travel across Hull and the East Riding for service delivery and collaboration

Key requirements

• Master’s degree in pharmacy (MPharm) and GPhC registration
• Independent Non-Medical Prescriber with active prescribing practice
• Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy, Psychiatric Pharmacy or equivalent
• Significant post-registration experience in clinical pharmacy
• Advanced specialist knowledge of ADHD, psychopharmacology and mental health medicines optimisation
• Ability to manage a complex clinical caseload independently
• Experience with autonomous clinical decision-making and prescribing
