Principal Civil Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead the design and delivery of highways and infrastructure projects for public sector clients, shaping outcomes with local authorities and stakeholders. You will manage programmes, budgets and technical outputs while mentoring engineers. You’ll ensure designs meet standards and contribute to bids and framework commissions. Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of highways and infrastructure projects
• Manage project programmes, budgets and technical outputs
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders and local authorities
• Undertake and review highways, drainage and infrastructure designs
• Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with standards and industry guidance
• Mentor and develop engineers and technicians
• Support bids, fee proposals and framework commissions

Key requirements

• Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or a similar discipline
• Experience delivering highways and infrastructure projects within a consultancy environment
• Strong understanding of highways design standards including DMRB, Manual for Streets and local authority requirements
• Experience managing project teams and client relationships
• Proficiency with industry-standard civil engineering design software
• Chartered Engineer status, or progress towards professional chartership (advantageous)
