Overview

As a Management Accountant you will own key accounting processes and deliver monthly management accounts for an international interior design organisation. You will work closely with the Finance Director and project teams to ensure accurate records, timely month-end reporting, and robust financial controls. The role blends accounting rigor with commercial insight, offering exposure to multi-entity operations and opportunities to progress beyond transactional finance. You will shape reporting packs, reconcile ledgers, and support broader financial analysis and decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and month-end packs
  • Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
  • Post accruals, prepayments and month-end journals
  • Review trial balance and investigate unusual balances
  • Ensure accurate ledgers and reconciliations ahead of month-end
  • Resolve queries arising from monthly accounts
  • Own month-end accounts for designated Group entities
  • Manage purchase ledger and supplier invoices
  • Reconcile supplier accounts and process supplier payments
  • Manage client invoicing, credit control and cash collection
  • Liaise with project teams for client billing information
  • Conduct bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Review employee expenses and timesheets
  • Set up new projects/contracts in the finance system
  • Maintain accounting records and supporting documentation
  • Support Finance Director with financial reporting and analysis

Key requirements

  • Minimum four years in an accounting/finance role
  • Experience from accounts preparation through trial balance, including month-end journals and reconciliations
  • Strong double-entry bookkeeping, accruals and prepayments knowledge
  • Strong Excel and accounting systems experience
  • Excellent attention to detail and methodical approach
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills for monthly deadlines
  • Independent with ownership of tasks
  • Confident communicator with stakeholders
  • AAT qualified, ACCA/ACA part-qualified, or equivalent experience
