Overview

In this role you will drive new business across London in commercial construction and fit-out, leveraging an established network to identify opportunities and convert them to tendered work. You will build relationships with Tier 1 contractors, FM providers and occupiers, partnering with commercial and estimating teams to shape proposals. You will manage opportunities from first contact to appointment, contributing to sustainable growth for a specialist contractor. This is a chance to shape the company’s presence in a dynamic market with a credible, relationship-led approach.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a targeted business development strategy in the London market
  • Generate opportunities through an established construction-sector network
  • Build relationships with Tier 1 contractors, FM providers, consultants, developers, landlords and occupiers
  • Identify upcoming projects before they are widely known
  • Develop relationships with Commercial Directors, Procurement, Project Managers, QSs and Facilities Managers
  • Manage opportunities from initial introduction through tender and appointment
  • Collaborate with commercial, estimating and project teams to develop proposals
  • Maintain and grow existing client relationships
  • Manage CRM, pipeline and BD activity

Key requirements

  • Proven BDM/sales experience within construction
  • Strong and established construction-sector contact network
  • Ideally an established Tier 1 contractor contact book
  • Existing relationships with Tier 1 contractors, FM providers, consultants, developers, landlords and/or occupiers
  • Track record of generating new business and winning work
  • Several years’ construction experience and strong market knowledge
  • Excellent commercial awareness and understanding of the construction project lifecycle
  • Confidence engaging with senior decision-makers
  • Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Consultative, credible and relationship-led approach
