Site Supervisor

Overview

In this role you will oversee safe, on-time delivery of civil works across water and wastewater projects, collaborating with Site and Construction Managers. You drive progress, quality, and safety while mentoring on-site teams and coordinating subcontractors. You’ll enforce compliance with standards and method statements, promoting a proactive safety culture and efficient site operations. This is a hands-on leadership role shaping delivery on major infrastructure schemes.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily site activities of operatives and subcontractors
• Ensure works comply with Alliance requirements, regulations, permits, and method statements
• Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, and pre-start briefings to uphold safety culture
• Monitor temporary works, plant checks, and on-site activities for compliance
• Lead by example to encourage near-miss reporting, good housekeeping, and behavioural safety
• Drive quality by following inspection and test plans to achieve first-time-right delivery
• Track progress and resolve issues affecting programme or budget
• Coordinate ordering and deployment of plant, equipment, and materials
• Support, motivate, and mentor site teams and promote continuous improvement
• Build strong relationships with colleagues, subcontractors, customers, and the public

Key requirements

• CSCS Supervisor Card
• Proven experience supervising civil construction activities
• CITB SMSTS or SSSTS qualification
• First Aid at Work qualification
• Strong understanding of health, safety, environmental and quality requirements
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving abilities
• IT literacy and experience with digital construction tools and systems
• Track record of delivering projects safely, on time and to a high standard
