CFO PE Backed Buy and Build Professional Services business

Overview

In this CFO role, you will partner with the Board and private equity investors to guide financial strategy during a Buy & Build phase. You’ll lead acquisition evaluation, due diligence, funding, and integration while sustaining performance across the existing business. You will shape governance, reporting, and systems to support rapid growth and value creation. This is a high-impact opportunity at a PE-backed professional services group aiming to triple EBITDA and achieve a successful exit.

Pay / Benefits

• £225,000–£250,000 per annum + equity

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the acquisition strategy from evaluation to integration
• Conduct financial due diligence, deal execution, and funding for M&A opportunities
• Provide financial and commercial insight to support performance improvement
• Strengthen governance, reporting, systems, and processes during professionalisation
• Collaborate with the Board, PE investors, and advisers to execute the Buy & Build plan
• Identify opportunities to create additional value across the group

Key requirements

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA)
• Seasoned CFO with PE-backed experience
• Proven track record in leading M&A within professional services or similar people-led environments
• Experience supporting founder-led businesses through governance and process improvement
• Strong analytical, commercial, and technical capabilities with attention to detail
