Overview

As Lead Maintenance Engineer in Greencore Desserts’ Highbridge site, you will optimise processing and packaging equipment to keep production safe, efficient and high-quality. You’ll work with operations to diagnose faults, plan maintenance and drive continuous improvements across food manufacturing assets. The role combines hands-on fault finding with engineering leadership in a fast-paced, compliance-focused environment. Responsibilities

Prepare and perform maintenance work for food and drink assets
Conduct planned and predictive maintenance on processing and packaging equipment
Respond to breakdowns and implement corrective actions
Identify faults (electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, automation, pneumatics) and resolve them
Lead or support changeovers and set ups with operational teams
Manufacture/repair component parts for assets
Contribute to continuous improvement projects and failure investigations
Maintain engineering documentation and support competence development
Ensure availability of maintenance tools and participate in audits

Key requirements

Level 2 Maths/English
Engineering Apprenticeship (C&G/EAL NVQ 3/4 or OAL FDEM)
IET Wiring Regulations training in year one
Level 2 Food Safety, CMMS and contractor control training in year one
Multiskilled with electrical bias
Strong problem-solving, communication and teamwork
Knowledge of SHE procedures
Experience in fault finding, maintenance planning, IT systems and SOPs
Mechanical/electrical knowledge including hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, PLCs and sensors
