The Opportunity
A retail organisation is migrating from a legacy ERP platform to a new cloud-based system and needs an experienced Data Analyst to support the implementation.Working alongside internal teams and the systems implementation partner, you will help assess, prepare and validate the data required for a successful migration.
The Role
You will take a hands-on role in understanding the organisation’s existing ERP data, identifying quality issues and supporting its transition into the new platform.The initial focus will be on data discovery, mapping and readiness. You will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams and the SI to ensure data is accurate, complete and suitable for migration.Main ResponsibilitiesAnalyse data held within the existing ERP platformProfile data and identify quality, consistency and completeness issuesSupport data mapping between legacy and target systemsDefine and document data cleansing and transformation requirementsWork with business teams to confirm data ownership and validation rulesLiaise with the implementation partner on migration requirements and timelinesSupport data extraction, cleansing, reconciliation and validation activitiesInvestigate discrepancies and help resolve migration issuesProduce clear reports on data quality, risks and readinessMaintain data mapping, definitions and supporting documentationSkills and ExperiencePrevious Data Analyst experience within an ERP implementation or migrationStrong experience of data profiling, mapping, cleansing and validationGood understanding of ERP data structures and migration processesExperience reconciling data between legacy and target systemsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsConfident working with business stakeholders and implementation partnersAble to work independently and deliver within a short, focused assignmentHands-on experience using SQL and data analysis toolsDesirableExperience with Microsoft Dynamics 365Previous retail or multi-site business experienceExperience working with finance or supply chain dataFamiliarity with Microsoft Dynamics AX
