Imaging Assistant

About the Role

CPL in partnership with leading private care provider are looking for a caring and reliable Clinical Imaging Assistant to support our imaging department in Hemel Hempstead. You’ll work alongside radiographers and clinical staff to provide direct, hands-on patient care and support throughout the imaging pathway.

Key Responsibilities

• Greeting, reassuring, and preparing patients for imaging procedures, including helping them undress/dress, transfer, or position for scans
• Assisting patients with mobility needs (e.g. wheelchair users, those on trolleys or with limited mobility)
• Monitoring and supporting patients’ comfort and wellbeing before, during, and after their scan
• Taking and recording basic clinical observations where required (e.g. temperature, pulse, blood pressure)
• Assisting radiographers and clinical staff during imaging procedures
• Maintaining accurate patient records and imaging documentation
• Ensuring imaging equipment, rooms, and patient areas are clean, stocked, and ready for use
• Supporting infection control practices, including PPE use and cleaning between patients
• Escorting patients to and from wards or waiting areas as needed
• Following all health and safety, safeguarding, and radiation protection protocols

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant (HCA), care assistant, or in a similar clinical support role
• Comfortable providing hands-on patient care, including assisting with mobility and personal care needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a calm and reassuring manner
• A caring, patient-focused approach
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Basic IT skills for patient record systems
• Willingness to undertake relevant training (e.g. moving and handling, infection control, basic life support)
