Technical Manager

Overview

In this Technical Manager role, you will lead the technical function across multiple residential developments from pre-construction to completion. You will work closely with the commercial, construction, and land teams to ensure deliverables meet programme, quality, and cost targets. You will coordinate design professionals, manage approvals and regulatory requirements, and drive value engineering and buildability improvements. This SME environment offers ownership of projects and opportunities to shape high-quality housing schemes across the South East.

Responsibilities

• Manage the technical function across multiple developments from pre-construction to completion
• Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants and external design professionals
• Manage the design process and ensure information aligns with programme requirements
• Review and approve technical drawings, specifications and construction details
• Discharge planning conditions and technical approvals
• Coordinate Building Regulations, warranty and statutory requirements
• Identify and resolve technical issues throughout the development process
• Collaborate with Construction and Commercial teams to ensure deliverability, cost-effectiveness and compliance
• Support procurement and review contractor/supplier proposals when required
• Maintain design programmes and monitor consultant performance
• Attend site meetings and provide technical support to construction teams
• Contribute to value engineering and buildability reviews
• Ensure projects meet required quality standards, programme and specification

Key requirements

• Experience as a Technical Manager or Technical Coordinator in housebuilding or residential construction
