Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services)

Overview

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will develop mechanical building services designs for various projects from an office-based design team. You will ensure designs meet safety standards and regulations, and support site surveys and design reviews. You’ll use industry software to size and specify equipment, and produce layouts and schemas that guide installation. Responsibilities

• develop mechanical system designs for building projects
• attend design meetings
• carry out site surveys
• use design software to calculate heating, cooling, and ventilation needs
• select and size equipment
• prepare reports
• produce detailed layouts and schematics

Key requirements

• strong experience in mechanical building services design
• familiarity with UK and Irish standards (CIBSE, BS, EN, etc.)
• proficiency in design software such as Hevacomp, CyMap, IES, or similar
