Overview

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will lead the mechanical design of complex devices across healthcare, life sciences, medical devices, and industrial sectors. You’ll work on sensors, automation, and robotics, using SolidWorks or Creo to take concepts from scratch through to market. While not a line manager, you’ll provide project leadership and mentor junior engineers. Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design on a range of projects using SolidWorks or Creo
• Provide project leadership and coordinate cross-functional efforts as needed
• Mentor and support junior mechanical design engineers on their project contributions
• Design complex systems from concept through to market release
• Advise on projects using practical, industry-based experience
• Collaborate with colleagues across healthcare, life sciences, and industrial sectors
• Contribute to portfolio development and technical storytelling for applications

Key requirements

• 1st or 2:1 degree in engineering or related field (or equivalent consultancy experience)
• Proven track record in developing complex technologies in industry
• Strong proficiency with SolidWorks or Creo
• Experience designing devices in sensors, automation, or robotics
• Ability to lead project work streams and provide technical guidance
• Portfolio or demonstrable examples of past work
