Technician, Process Development – Engineering

• Lead execution of experiments and trials required for process design and deployment across innovation, growth and productivity projects
• Implement process trials in pilot plants, factories and with suppliers
• Provide operational expertise in specific process unit operations
• Help plan effective use of resources, including external agencies
• Create technical reports by analyzing and interpreting results, drawing conclusions and making recommendations
• Create and maintain accurate process specifications
• Create intellectual property that drives competitive advantage
• Support trial activities, weighing, material additions and other manual activities
• Operate low-complexity equipment and perform hand moulding activities
• Dispose of non-conforming materials and ensure accurate labelling
• Support environmental monitoring and compliance programs
• Complete assigned actions supporting improvement programs, 5S and continuous improvement

Requirements

• Process development experience, ideally in a fast-moving consumer goods environment
• Ability to work with teams and independently with guidance from more senior team members
• Proactively identify problems and assist in creating and implementing solutions
• Technical understanding of equipment and ingredients in support of process development
• Labs/plant equipment operation and maintenance experience is a distinct advantage
• Consumer-centric mindset
• Technical rigor, curiosity and collaboration
• Hands-on, proactive approach
• Manual handling of materials
• Ability to work in a busy Pilot Plant facility, primarily in production areas
