Transport Planner

GTS Transport Services have over 30 years experience in the transport industry offering a first class service to a wide range of industries. We specialise in the transport of full and part loads Ireland-GB using our extensive fleet of modern tractor units and trailers. Due to continued growth we are seeking to recruit a Traffic Planner, based at our Ballyclare Office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage transport operations to achieve maximum utilisation whilst minimising costs and ensuring customer needs are met
• Plan, schedule and optimise daily routes across the UK and Ireland in line with operational and legal compliance requirements
• Actively communicate with drivers and colleagues to ensure timely collections and deliveries
• Monitor customer requests, allocate jobs, and issue instructions
• Troubleshoot transport-related issues in real-time
• Co-ordinate subcontractors effectively and efficiently based on business needs
• Liaise with customers to manage their business needs to ensure smooth running of transport operations
• Other ad hoc duties

Requirements:

• Previous experience in Transport Planning and General Haulage
• Working knowledge of the UK & Ireland
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Can do attitude with the ability to think independently
• Exceptional attention to detail with excellent administrative abilities
• Able to work well independently and as part of a team
• Flexible and adaptable in a high-pressure environment
• Excellent time management and workload prioritisation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Calm, practical and organised approach
