Overview

In this Not-for-Profit Audit Director/Partner role, you lead a sizeable charity and not-for-profit audit portfolio within a respected Kent firm. You act as a trusted adviser to trustees and senior leaders, ensuring high-quality delivery and regulatory compliance. You will mentor managers, contribute to business development, and help expand the not-for-profit offering. This role combines autonomy with a supportive culture and meaningful impact on the sector.

Responsibilities

• Lead a substantial portfolio of charity, academy, and not-for-profit audit clients
• Act as trusted adviser to trustees, finance directors, chief executives, and governing bodies
• Oversee audit planning, delivery, and quality control across the portfolio
• Provide technical expertise on charity accounting and audit matters
• Support and develop managers and senior audit team members
• Identify opportunities to strengthen and expand the firm’s not-for-profit offering
• Play an active role in business development, networking, and client relationship management
• Collaborate with partners to drive growth of the service line

Key requirements

• ACA or ACCA qualified
• Extensive experience managing and leading charity and not-for-profit audits within practice
• Hold Responsible Individual status or working towards it
• Strong technical knowledge of charity accounting regulations and auditing standards
• Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship management skills
• Seeking a senior leadership position within a collaborative and forward-thinking firm
