Overview
In this role you drive the regional learning and development agenda to support White & Case’s 2028 strategy. You’ll shape priorities, partner with senior leaders, and deliver a mix of formal and informal learning across EMEA to strengthen capability and career growth. You work with a global team to design impactful programs and measure outcomes, aligning with firm values and governance. This is a high-visibility position with broad regional impact and opportunities to influence talent development in a large, international firm.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to global E&D strategy as a regional leader within the L&D leadership team
- Shape and oversee global learning programs, incorporating input from across international offices
- Lead global projects in a matrixed environment with cross-functional support
- Align L&D priorities with wider firm strategy by partnering with Talent, People, Knowledge, Benefits and other teams
- Ensure L&D initiatives reflect firm values, culture and strategic priorities
- Contribute to governance of learning standards, evaluation frameworks and core curricula
- Represent EMEA in global L&D forums to ensure regional perspectives inform global design
- Deploy globally designed projects into the region with consistent quality
- Develop and maintain a regional curriculum for local practice groups and business services
- Deliver integrated learning strategies across modalities (coaching, mentoring, in-person/virtual classes, social learning)
- Innovate L&D offerings using best practices and prior experience
- Track learning activity, participation, compliance and impact against defined metrics
- Serve as trusted business partner to senior stakeholders on organizational change and development initiatives
- Ensure efficient regional event programming and smooth execution of events
- Support Workday Learning integration with global colleagues
- Manage external learning vendors across EMEA and oversee the L&D budget and financials
- Oversee regional reporting and analytics to update stakeholders on outcomes and impact
- Ensure L&D activities meet regulatory, professional and firm requirements
- Lead the EMEA L&D team across three locations and develop talent in a high-stretch environment
- Collaborate with Engagement team to align business partnering and L&D activities
- Lead bespoke projects as needed
- Design and deliver programs incorporating latest thinking in L&D
- Facilitate learning programs in workshops and stage settings
- Escalation point for complex L&D queries; coach team in consulting and stakeholder management
- Model effective stakeholder management and communication in a partnership environment
- Pursue ongoing professional development in L&D, legal sector trends and tech-enabled learning

Key requirements
- 10+ years’ experience in developing and delivering training and learning solutions
- Coaching qualification desirable
- Psychometric qualifications (Hogan, DiSC, Lumina) preferred
- Experience leading complex L&D departments in a global, matrixed setting
- Strong instructional design, facilitation and presentation skills for senior audiences (in-person, hybrid, virtual)
- Proven track record in organizational change programs
- Strong project management, deadlines, and attention to detail
- Independent work style with ownership of tasks and proactive problem-solving
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and meeting tech (Zoom, Teams); AI experience useful
- Experience with learning technologies and Workday Learning integration
- Professional services experience, ideally in a law firm
