Band 7 – Governance Manager, Gynaecology

Overview

In this Governance Manager role, you will drive high-quality governance, patient safety, risk management and continuous improvement across the Division. You will work with senior clinical and operational leaders to embed robust governance and support learning that enhances patient care and staff experience. You will lead and coordinate governance activities and respond to regulatory requirements, influencing improvements across a large clinical division. Responsibilities

• Coordinate incident management, complaints, risk registers, clinical audit programmes, governance reporting and regulatory compliance activities
• Support the implementation of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) and lead investigations and learning reviews
• Monitor governance action plans and provide expert advice to clinical and operational teams
• Identify themes and trends from governance data to drive continuous improvement and assurance
• Collaborate with Divisional leaders and governance colleagues to support learning and organisational learning

Key requirements

• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in a relevant field
• Evidence of continuous professional development in governance, patient safety, or risk management
• Formal training in incident investigation methodologies for PSIRF
• Registered healthcare professional
• Detailed knowledge of NHS quality governance frameworks and systems
• Understanding of regulatory requirements including CQC standards, PSIRF, clinical audit and risk management

• Communication and collaboration with clinical and operational teams
• Analytical mindset for data triangulation and theme extraction
• Proactive problem-solving and advisory capabilities
• PSIRF implementation and learning investigations
