Senior Consultant / Principal Consultant – Digital Buildings Integration – Birmingham, London & Manchester

Overview

Lead client-side delivery of digital buildings and workplace technology projects, aligning IT infrastructure with construction and operational priorities. You’ll coordinate cross-functional teams, manage scope and risk, and ensure technology outcomes are realized from initiation to handover. This role sits at the intersection of property, technology and operations, offering impact across high-visibility programmes. You will shape practical delivery, mentor colleagues and contribute to a growing Building Integration capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead defined IT, workplace-technology and digital-buildings projects from initiation to close-out
• Manage scope, programme, budget, risks, dependencies and decisions with clear governance
• Align technology milestones with construction, fit-out and operational-readiness activity
• Identify blockers early and drive resolution to protect cost and schedule
• Produce concise reporting on progress, financial health, risk and decisions for sponsors and stakeholders
• Coordinate designers, contractors, vendors and technical resources delivering networks, cabling, AV systems and related infrastructure
• Manage interfaces between IT infrastructure, smart-building systems and the wider delivery programme
• Support testing, commissioning, handover and operational readiness
• Lead or support technology-procurement activity, tender processes and supplier coordination
• Build relationships with clients and suppliers while maintaining accountability for outcomes
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to bid, proposal and capability development
• Contribute to client relationships and opportunities aligned with appointment level
• Lead defined bids and extensions at Principal Consultant level
• Help grow the Building Integration capability and delivery standards
• Provide input toward Associate Director path and major client relationships

Key requirements

• Experience leading client-side technology or IT-infrastructure delivery in commercial occupier or fit-out environments
• Track record managing scope, programme, budget, risks and stakeholders on complex projects
• Practical experience of IT infrastructure, networks, communications rooms, cabling, cloud or on-premises environments and AV systems
• Ability to coordinate interfaces between IT, smart-building and OT systems
• Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Proactive, resourceful approach to risk and decision-making
• PRINCE2 / PMP / APM PMQ / AgilePM or equivalent project-delivery experience
• Experience client-side or with a technology integrator/contractor in advisory/assurance roles
• Desirable: alignment with RIBA Plan of Work, procurement processes, building management system integration
• Desirable: security clearance or eligibility
