As a Senior Product Engineer at Wise, you will strengthen our Wise for Banks team by designing scalable Java/Spring Boot services that support a growing global payment network. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java/Spring Boot services within a microservices architecture
• Apply domain-driven design to build robust, scalable solutions
• Lead development in event-driven architectures using Kafka or similar messaging systems
• Architect, design, and optimise PostgreSQL databases for performance and scalability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support partner integrations and expand the Wise payment platform globally
• Participate in code reviews, champion best practices, and mentor junior engineers

Key requirements

• Extensive experience with Java and Spring Boot
• Strong expertise in microservices architecture and event-driven design
• Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar messaging systems
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and database design/optimisation
• Proficiency in domain-driven design (DDD) a plus
• Product mindset with focus on customer outcomes and data-driven decisions
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in teams
