Senior Town Planner

Overview

In this Senior Town Planner role, you will contribute to Arcadis’ environmental planning team, guiding town planning projects for diverse clients and helping to win and deliver outstanding work. You’ll collaborate across disciplines to ensure robust, policy-aligned solutions and mentor junior staff while building strong client relationships. Your work supports Arcadis’ mission to deliver sustainable solutions and improve quality of life on complex projects. Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality technical work independently or with a team while following professional guidance and policy standards
• Manage time effectively to ensure timely delivery and efficient utilization of resources
• Collaborate with other sectors to preserve the integrity of the overall solution
• Develop and maintain relationships with project leads and clients, communicating progress and resolving issues
• Coach and provide technical guidance to junior team members for delivery and development
• Build understanding of Arcadis services and client business to support networking and credibility
• Understand and apply Arcadis policies and processes, acting in line with General Business Principles

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, preferably RTPI accredited or equivalent
• Competent in town planning skills (development planning, planning policy, infrastructure planning)
• Substantial progress toward Chartered status or equivalent professional accreditation
• Relevant experience in town planning with practical application of key principles
• Advanced proficiency with relevant desktop applications
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent time management
• Strong project management, client relationship management and commercial skills
• Good understanding of Environmental, Safety and Risk Management
