Overview

Technology Programme Manager to lead the HR ERP transformation for Royal Mail, delivering SAP-based HR, Payroll and data initiatives at national scale. You will own end-to-end technology delivery, align workstreams across HR, Payroll, Finance and Data, and drive benefits realisation. You’ll govern a complex programme, manage senior stakeholder expectations, and develop capable delivery teams. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role shaping Royal Mail’s HR technology future.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the HR ERP Technology Programme end-to-end delivery
  • Mobilise the programme, define workstreams and maintain an integrated HR/Payroll/Finance/Data roadmap
  • Set programme objectives, milestones and dependencies
  • Develop robust investment cases and resource plans with risks and timelines
  • Ensure traceability between technology outputs and HR outcomes (process simplification, payroll accuracy, compliance)
  • Lead programme-level benefits realisation and governance
  • Establish governance aligned to standards and report to senior forums
  • Enable PMs through initiation, scope control, planning, financial management and risk/issue management
  • Ensure assurance for payroll-critical releases
  • Manage relationships with senior HR, Finance, Technology leaders and external vendors
  • Provide senior leadership across System Integrators and software vendors
  • Develop people and capability; recruit/retain talent; mentor PMs/BA; drive continuous improvement
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across Technology Delivery

Key requirements

  • Track record delivering large-scale technology programmes or portfolios with clear outcomes and benefits
  • Experience delivering ERP or major enterprise platforms (SAP preferred) in complex, regulated environments
  • Strong strategic thinking to translate HR and Payroll targets into delivery roadmaps
  • Exceptional leadership to align business, technology and suppliers
  • Strong financial, commercial and risk management at programme scale
  • Experience with payroll accuracy, data integrity and compliance as mission critical
  • Outstanding communication to brief and influence senior stakeholders
