In this role, you will join a respected private client team in Cardiff to handle wills, probate, trusts, and estate planning at a senior level. You will manage a broad caseload, advise on complex matters, and contribute to the department’s strategic growth. You will supervise junior colleagues, develop client relationships, and play a key role in business development. Responsibilities

  • Manage a broad and varied caseload including wills, estate planning, probate, and trusts
  • Provide clear, commercially focused advice on complex matters
  • Oversee Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection work
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships
  • Supervise and mentor junior solicitors, trainees and support staff
  • Contribute to business development and networking efforts
  • Ensure regulatory and professional compliance
  • Assist with strategic growth of the Private Client department
  • Maintain meticulous file management, time recording and billing

Key requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with 5-8 years PQE
  • Strong experience across wills, probate and trusts
  • STEP qualification (or working towards) highly desirable
  • Proven ability to manage a complex caseload independently
  • Excellent drafting, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Experience supervising junior team members
  • Demonstrable business development experience
