Civil Engineer – Airfield Team

Overview

As a Civil Engineer in Ramboll’s Aviation Airfield Team, you will deliver civil design across all RIBA stages for UK and international projects. You’ll work within a small, specialised team based in Chester, contributing to both civil and military client work and supporting sustainable outcomes. You will manage your time and review CAD drawings while identifying risks and opportunities to drive quality engineering. This role offers growth, exposure to innovative infrastructure work, and a pathway toward chartership.

Responsibilities

• Civil design at all RIBA stages for both traditional and design and build procurement
• Management of your own time and that of technicians
• Review of drawings produced by CAD technicians
• Identification of project risk and opportunity

Key requirements

• Civil Engineering degree
• Experience delivering civil engineering services across all RIBA work stages
• Experience undertaking technical and feasibility studies including site investigations
• Experience delivering design of new civil infrastructure
• Experience in review, assessment and design of alterations to existing civil infrastructure
• Working or interested in working towards chartership
• Experience delivering civil design in accordance with Eurocode and UK Building Regulations
• Experience and understanding of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 including Principal Designer role
