Overview
In this role, you support the leadership and development of the Student Mental Health Service for City St George’s. You provide specialist, evidence-based support to students with complex mental health needs and lead on high‑level risk assessments and crisis response. You coordinate with NHS and external services, shaping inclusive, accessible support pathways across the university. You will supervise Mental Health Advisers and contribute to service improvement and training, making a tangible impact on student wellbeing and safety.

Responsibilities
- Lead on the Student Mental Health Service development and complex cases
- Provide specialist, evidence-based support to students with moderate to severe mental health difficulties
- Perform risk assessment and crisis intervention
- Coordinate multi-agency liaison with statutory and external services
- Develop inclusive, accessible support pathways across the University
- Provide line-management and clinical/operational supervision to Mental Health Advisers
- Ensure continuity of support during staff absence and contribute to service improvement
- Offer specialist consultation and training to colleagues
- Lead on complex cases and contribute to service development
Key requirements
- Significant experience in mental health practice
- Professionally registered mental health practitioner
- Strong safeguarding and communication skills
