Senior Project Manager (Business Transformation)

Overview

As a Senior Project Manager at British Airways, you will own transformation initiatives that drive meaningful, on-time improvements within budget. You’ll bring together cross-functional teams to turn ambitious ideas into lasting change, shaping the airline’s future. You work closely with business leaders to ensure benefits are realized and operations transition smoothly to BA’s business-as-usual. Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of projects from the transformation roadmap, ensuring successful implementation and transition to BA’s operations.
• Coordinate cross-business teams, manage dependencies, and drive progress to milestones.
• Plan and control schedules, budgets, forecasts, and resource needs.
• Identify and mitigate risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
• Maintain robust financial controls and governance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Build relationships with business leaders and stakeholders as a trusted partner.
• Ensure outcomes meet scope, budget, timescales, and internal control requirements.
• Support broader programme management and PMO activities when required.

Key requirements

• Extensive project management experience across complex initiatives.
• Professional PMO qualification preferred (MSP, PMP, PRINCE2, MoP, P3O or similar).
• Degree or equivalent experience beneficial but not essential.
• Experience with Agile methods; SAFe desirable.
• Aviation industry experience preferred.
• Ability to manage budgets, schedules and risks; lead teams in a matrix environment; influence at all levels.
• Experience delivering AI-enabled projects is advantageous.
