Critical Care Outreach Practitioner CNS Band 7

Overview

In this role you will join the Critical Care Outreach Team to extend 24/7 cross-site coverage, supporting acutely unwell patients across sites. You lead on timely assessment, intervention, and ongoing management, working with a nurse-led CCOT backed by critical care consultants. You will teach ward teams and drive deteriorating patient quality improvement across the site. This role blends teamwork and independent work within a dynamic, supportive environment and offers opportunities to develop CNS clinical skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective care in ward areas as an integral MDT member
• Recognise and respond to acutely ill/deteriorating patients with timely interventions
• Respond to clinical emergencies as they arise
• Teach and assess clinical skills in practice
• Act as a professional role model for acute care
• Audit patient outcomes and contribute to service improvement projects

Key requirements

• RN BSc
• Recognised post registration Critical Care (ICU) course
• Clinical Reasoning Advanced Patient Assessment Course
• Relevant recent Critical Care Experience
• Leadership and shift leading Experience
• Change Management experience
• Current UK professional registration
