Engineering Manager

Overview

In this Engineering Manager role, you will lead the Southern regional engineering function to deliver high-quality residential developments. You will coordinate internal teams and external consultants, ensuring designs meet standards and approvals are obtained on time. You’ll advise on land acquisition and planning, support construction with engineering solutions, and drive value engineering. This position offers impact across sites, authorities, and contractors within a growing housebuilder. You will shape engineering for exciting residential projects in the Southern region.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the engineering function in the Southern region
• Oversee design and approval of roads, drainage, levels, and civil requirements
• Manage external consultants and ensure design compliance
• Provide technical input during land acquisition and planning
• Secure timely approvals from highways, water, and environmental authorities
• Support site teams with engineering solutions during construction
• Drive cost-efficiency and value engineering initiatives

Key requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Experience in housebuilding or civil engineering consultancy
• Strong knowledge of highway and drainage design, Section 38/104/278/106 processes
• Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects to tight deadlines
