Engineering Manager

Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer at Pigment, you will deliver value through elegant, production-ready design while mentoring a team of engineers. You split time between hands-on development and people management, coaching up to six engineers and shaping career paths. You’ll translate customer needs into technical solutions and drive engineering initiatives with cross-functional partners. Responsibilities

• Translate functional requirements into clean, scalable designs and deliver high-quality code
• Mentor and coach up to six direct reports, providing feedback and career development plans
• Define expectations and participate in performance decisions with other managers
• Lead ad hoc cross-team projects to improve engineering processes and update the skill leveling matrix
• Collaborate with product, design, and other teams to ensure delivery that meets customer needs
• Support organizational governance by organizing demos, communications, and engineering evolutions

Key requirements

• Senior-level software engineering experience in production products (usually 7–8 years for managers)
• 2–3+ years of people management experience
• Proven design of object-oriented software in languages such as C#, Java, C++, Golang, Rust, Python or Ruby
• Strong problem-solving mindset and team spirit
• Humility and willingness to grow across seniority levels
• Fluent English; French not required
