Senior Internal Auditor

Overview

In this role, you will strengthen Gen Re’s internal control framework and contribute to a robust SOX program from our London office. You will lead and shape risk-based audits across business processes, IT interfaces, and Lloyd’s syndicate activities, delivering actionable insights to stakeholders. You will promote innovative audit methods, utilize data analytics and AI, and coach colleagues to raise audit quality. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure regulatory compliance and effective governance in a global, insurance-focused setting. This is a chance to influence audit strategy in a leading reinsurance franchise and drive impactful outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute audits within the SOX program and broader internal controls framework
• Design risk-based audit approaches for business processes and IT interfaces
• Audit Lloyd’s of London Syndicate activities including governance, underwriting, and claims
• Assess regulatory requirements and Group standards across regions
• Promote data-driven audit techniques and emerging technologies, including AI
• Collaborate with colleagues through training and workshops to raise audit capability
• Provide insights to stakeholders and support risk-based decision making
• Contribute to continuous improvement of audit methodologies and tools

Key requirements

• CIA, CPA, CISA, or equivalent
• Experience in insurance, reinsurance, or financial services
• Familiarity with Lloyd’s market, syndicate operations, delegated authorities, underwriting and claims processes
• Hands-on data analytics and visualization skills (Power BI, Alteryx, SQL)
• Degree in Business Administration, Business Informatics, Economics, or comparable field
• 5+ years in Internal Audit, External Audit, SOX Compliance, Internal Controls, or Risk Management
• Strong understanding of Re/Insurance processes and internal control systems
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Analytical, risk-oriented mindset in an international environment
