Senior Consultant, Research and Development Tax – Costing, Manchester or London 1

Overview

In this role within EY’s Intl Tax and Tran Svcs (ITTS), you help deliver R&D tax claims and related incentives for Financial Services clients while ensuring compliance. You’ll collaborate with clients’ finance, tax, and IT teams and contribute to business development opportunities. The role combines technical tax work with client relationship management in a dynamic, globally connected environment. You will shape solutions across multi-country projects and build lasting stakeholder partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Support efficient preparation and delivery of R&D tax claims in the Financial Services sector
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, engaging senior stakeholders
• Foster internal and external collaboration, coordinating with client-facing teams
• Identify opportunities and manage client expectations across engagements
• Contribute to business development by nurturing existing clients and pursuing new opportunities
• Assist on cash grants and patent box applications as part of Innovation activities

Key requirements

• Experienced in either wider Corporation Tax or R&D tax practitioner role
• Team player with ability to integrate with new teams quickly
• Outgoing with strong relationship skills and commitment to quality
• Strong technical skills with a willingness to develop further
• Ability to identify risks, perform effective reviews, and escalate when needed
• Relationship management skills and capacity to manage client expectations
