Project Surveyor

Overview

As a Project Surveyor you support Positioning & Construction projects in the NORUK region from tender through offshore execution to close-out. You bring technical survey expertise, planning and coordination to ensure safe, efficient delivery and high-quality results, collaborating with cross-functional teams and client representatives. You’ll shape survey methods, equipment configurations and readiness, while driving QHSSE and continuous improvement. This role combines field delivery with project coordination in a dynamic offshore environment.

Responsibilities

• Review client specifications, ITTs and tender docs to identify technical, operational and resource needs.
• Support tender submissions with technical write-ups, survey methodologies and spread concepts.
• Provide survey expertise during all project phases from prep to close-out.
• Develop and maintain project-specific survey procedures, work instructions and reporting templates.
• Ensure project teams understand scopes, deliverables, constraints and technical risks.
• Define survey spread requirements, equipment configurations, sensor choices and redundancy.
• Coordinate with Equipment, Operations and offshore teams for mobilization readiness.
• Attend mobilisations, demobilisations, client meetings and site visits as required.
• Promote QHSSE excellence and ensure compliance with Fugro standards and IMS.
• Review survey reporting workflows to meet client specs and quality standards.
• Support data quality, QC, reporting consistency and efficient close-out.
• Identify opportunities to improve survey quality, efficiency and practices across the business.
• Share lessons learned and best practices with project and survey teams.

Key requirements

• Degree in Geomatics or equivalent qualification.
• MRICS or MCInstCES or willingness to work towards accreditation.
• >5 years offshore survey, positioning or construction support experience.
• Experience as Senior Surveyor, Party Chief or similar offshore role.
• Strong understanding of marine survey principles and positioning systems.
• Experience with survey spread definition, sensor selection and readiness planning.
• Knowledge of survey acquisition systems, QC processes and reporting workflows.
• Experience preparing technical documentation, specifications and project procedures.
• Commercial awareness to identify scope changes, variations and project risks.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple priorities across multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to QHSSE and continuous improvement.
• Willingness to travel at short notice.
