Quantity Surveyor

Overview

In this role you will manage commercial aspects of internal fit-out packages for a high-tech processing plant, collaborating with a quality‑driven team to deliver complex schemes. You’ll work on NEC-based processes, cost control and procurement, influencing final accounts and value tracking. The position sits on site, enabling hands‑on oversight and direct impact on project commercial performance. This is an engineering‑led, flagship fit‑out environment where your commercial acumen helps shape delivery and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial aspects of internal fit-out packages from procurement to final account
• Prepare and administer subcontract orders, variations and payment applications per NEC
• Conduct material price checks, benchmarking and supply chain comparisons
• Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations, change control, payment notices, final accounts
• Review and verify worksheets, dayworks and site records for cost capture
• Produce cost reports, forecasts and value tracking
• Support procurement, tender analysis and package recommendations
• Perform measurements, valuations and cost control across the programme
• Site-based oversight to check progress and validate records
• Maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and delivery teams
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities and provide actionable recommendations

Key requirements

• Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor
• Experience across internal fit-out, fire protection, dry lining, ceilings, flooring or similar packages
• Hands-on, on-site presence with understanding of progress and commercial impact
• Strong skills in material pricing, subcontractor management and validating worksheets and dayworks
• Strong commercial management across procurement, variations, cost reporting and final accounts
• Able to work in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment with excellent communication and coordination
• Able to manage multiple work packages with accuracy and attention to detail
• CSCS card
• NEC contract knowledge preferred
• Degree in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management preferred
