Senior Product Security Engineer

Overview

In this role you will help build and scale Metis, Arm’s central security analysis platform, focusing on Software Composition Analysis (SCA) to support large-scale security data processing. You will design backend services and Python-based APIs that enable onboarding, analysis execution, and results delivery, while improving scalability and observability. You will collaborate with security and engineering teams to turn requirements into practical platform capabilities and evolve the architecture to support future tooling. This is a hands-on, impact-focused opportunity to shape secure, scalable analysis at a company-wide level.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain core backend services for centralized security analysis and data processing
• Develop Python services, APIs, and workflow components for onboarding, analysis execution, results processing, and results delivery
• Improve scalability, resilience, and operability as adoption and analysis volume grows
• Integrate and extend SCA capabilities and platform foundations for adjacent security tooling
• Build observability into services through metrics, dashboards, monitoring, and alerting
• Collaborate with security and engineering teams to translate requirements into platform capabilities
• Evolve the platform’s backend architecture and service integration

Key requirements

• Strong coding ability in Python and scripting (bash)
• Experience designing, building, and operating backend services in production
• Strong understanding of API design, service-to-service integration, and backend architecture
• Experience with cloud environments, ideally AWS
• Experience with containers and Docker
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and modern engineering workflows
• Good communication across security and engineering teams
