Overview

In this role you contribute to profitable longevity pricing and process excellence for UK and international markets. You will deepen your understanding of pricing models to support the Longevity team and help optimize data, basis, and proposition development. You will assist with in-force monitoring, system enhancements, and the Global Centre of Competence initiative. You collaborate with cross-functional teams and client-facing activities to drive efficiency and market-appropriate outcomes. This is a technically demanding role at a leading reinsurer, offering growth and meaningful impact in longevity.

Responsibilities

  • Support new business tenders for UK and non-UK markets
  • Understand pricing approaches and models to assist the team with technical capabilities
  • Assess new data and modelling approaches to keep processes competitive and efficient
  • Support longevity basis development for UK and non-UK markets
  • Assist UK proposition development and in-force tasks with Head of In-Force
  • Provide guidance and knowledge sharing to longevity team members
  • Lead or support quote teams and pricing discussions
  • Lead/system development to improve efficiencies and automation
  • Contribute to the Longevity strategy and cross-team coordination
  • Promote Longevity within the UK office and contribute to Global Centre of Competence

Key requirements

  • Relevant experience in bulk annuity market and longevity swap pricing
  • Strong analytical and modelling skills; ability to work independently
  • Technically strong with Excel, VBA, R or similar languages
  • Ability to grasp new concepts quickly and communicate them effectively
  • Team player with training/mentoring capability
  • Willingness to challenge status quo
  • Desirable: good commercial awareness and understanding of DB de-risking offerings
  • Longevity insurance/reinsurance experience; contacts with key longevity players
  • Good negotiation skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Nearly or newly qualified actuary with direct actuarial experience in relevant markets
