In this role you will lead an internationally recognized computer engineering research programme and deliver high-calibre teaching for undergraduates and postgraduates. You will build strong industry partnerships, secure external funding, and mentor PhD students and postdocs. Responsibilities
- Establish and lead an internationally recognized research programme in computer engineering across future computing paradigms, sustainable computing, or secure hardware–software platforms for AI
- Develop and deliver high-calibre undergraduate and postgraduate modules and contribute to curriculum development
- Pursue external research funding from government bodies and industry partners, and build strong collaborations
- Lead undergraduate and postgraduate student projects within the department
- Supervise PhD students and postdoctoral researchers, supporting timely thesis completion
- Contribute to departmental and faculty administration and foster a positive culture
- Demonstrate commitment to equality and diversity
- PhD in Engineering or related discipline
- Internationally recognised leader in computer engineering research with a strong record of knowledge creation and innovation in one of the target areas
- Proven ability to secure research funding and manage a research group with industry partnerships
- Ability to teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules and supervise research students
- Collaborative, team-oriented leadership with mentoring experience and strategic contribution to the department
- Effective communication skills with a record of presenting at international conferences and publishing in leading journals
- Ability to build inclusive research environments and manage multi-PI grants and projects
