Overview
As Technical Director in WSP's Civil Nuclear team, you will provide strategic technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering groups to shape nuclear delivery. You will guide high-quality design solutions for large-scale new build, SMR/AMR, decommissioning and defence projects, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. You’ll influence programme outcomes, drive innovation, and grow client relationships to win major programmes. This is a pivotal growth role within a global engineering leader, offering impact across UK nuclear ambitions. You’ll lead with integrity, mentor teams, and help build WSP’s nuclear capability for the next chapter of energy security and net-zero goals.

- Mentor and develop technical teams to grow capability and support future nuclear professionals
- Oversee complex engineering projects ensuring technical, regulatory and safety compliance
- Lead major nuclear programmes including SMR, AMR, large-scale new build, and operational projects

- Provide commercial oversight across project portfolios, including budgeting, forecasting and contractual management
- Direct delivery of complex designs, assessments and safety cases

- Proven leadership of multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE) working towards Fellowship
- Experience delivering major nuclear infrastructure in a consultancy setting
- Strong technical expertise in civil, structural, seismic or geotechnical engineering
- Track record of developing client relationships and supporting business growth
- Commercial focus with experience managing financial performance
- Strategic thinker with influence on programme outcomes
- Proven track record delivering complex projects safely, on time and within budget
