We are recruiting on behalf of a reputable global machinery manufacturer seeking a hands-on Field Service Engineer.
This is a practical engineering role involving the installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of industrial machinery at customer sites throughout the UK. You will spend most of your time working directly on equipment, diagnosing faults and completing repairs, rather than managing people.
Responsibilities
Install and commission industrial machinery at customer sitesCarry out planned and preventative maintenanceAttend breakdowns and complete mechanical and electrical repairsDiagnose faults and resolve technical issues efficientlySupport machinery upgrades, modifications and improvement workTest equipment and ensure it is operating safely and correctlyProvide technical support during installations and service visitsWork alongside customer engineers, technicians and subcontractorsComplete service reports and accurately record work undertakenEnsure all work meets company procedures and health and safety standardsIdentify any additional repairs, parts or follow-up work requiredTravel throughout the UK, including overnight stays when necessary
Requirements
A qualified Engineer, ideally through a recognised apprenticeshipStrong hands-on mechanical and/or electrical engineering experienceExperience working with industrial machinery within a manufacturing, production or engineering environmentPrevious experience in maintenance, field service, installation, commissioning or machinery repairConfident with fault-finding, breakdowns and planned maintenanceComfortable working independently at customer sitesGood communication and customer service skillsA full UK driving licenceWillingness to travel throughout the UK and stay away from home when required
