Care Home Compliance Officer – UK Visa Sponsorship Available
BRVTH Care is a growing care group based in the West of Scotland, currently operating three nursing homes and planning to expand to four facilities by the end of the year. The organisation also intends to continue growing through further acquisitions while maintaining high standards of care.
BRVTH Care is seeking an experienced and qualified Care Audit & Compliance Officer to help ensure its residential and nursing services meet regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.
The successful candidate will lead compliance audits across the organisation, identify areas for improvement, monitor action plans, and support continuous improvements in the quality and safety of care provided to residents.
The role involves working closely with Registered Managers, Service Managers, operational teams, and head office colleagues to ensure compliance with Care Inspectorate requirements, legislation, best practice, and organisational policies.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance Audits and Inspections
- Conduct comprehensive audits across BRVTH Care’s residential and nursing services.
- Assess compliance with Care Inspectorate requirements and other relevant regulations.
- Identify areas of non-compliance, risks, and potential hazards.
- Develop appropriate action plans and improvement strategies.
- Communicate audit findings to Registered Managers and Service Managers.
- Produce clear and detailed written audit reports.
- Monitor agreed improvement actions and ensure they are completed within specified timescales.
Quality Assurance and Risk Management
- Oversee quality assurance processes across regulated services.
- Monitor trends, recurring issues, and areas requiring improvement.
- Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns in line with legislation and best practice.
- Support care teams in achieving continuous improvements in service delivery.
- Escalate significant concerns through appropriate governance procedures.
Reporting and Communication
- Prepare concise reports covering audit findings, safeguarding matters, and compliance performance.
- Present relevant findings and recommendations to senior management, Registered Managers, and the Registered Provider.
- Establish compliance targets and monitor progress against agreed actions.
- Ensure compliance records, documentation, and correspondence are maintained accurately and confidentially.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise with external regulatory organisations, including the Care Inspectorate.
- Develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide guidance, support, and training to staff on compliance and quality standards.
- Work with managers and operational teams to promote consistent standards of care.
Business Development and Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with managers to support organisational performance objectives.
- Contribute to service development projects designed to improve quality and residents’ experiences.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen governance, risk management, and clinical compliance systems.
- Support the organisation’s continued development as it expands its care services.
General Management
- Conduct internal audits and governance assessments across BRVTH Care facilities.
- Provide specialist advice on compliance, governance, safeguarding, and regulatory matters.
- Keep up to date with changes in legislation, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practice.
Essential Skills and Experience
Applicants should have:
- Demonstrable experience in compliance and audit management within health or social care.
- Strong knowledge of the regulatory framework governing care homes and supported living services.
- At least 3 years’ experience in comprehensive care home compliance management.
- Experience conducting audits and managing compliance within a regulated care environment.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify trends and use information to drive improvement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong report-writing abilities.
- The ability to influence and work effectively with staff at different levels of an organisation.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Qualifications
Applicants should ideally have:
- A relevant management qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent professional experience.
- NVQ Level 3 or Level 4 or an equivalent qualification.
- A strong understanding of Care Inspectorate regulations and quality frameworks.
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
